#OPENTOPOSSIBILITIES
One little LinkedIn frame made a big impact! Now you can have one too.

This week, a dear friend and colleague asked me about the #OPENTOWORK frame on my LinkedIn profile. We had a quick conversation, and a few hours later—after it churned around in my brain for a bit—I decided to do something. I opened up Illustrator and quickly created a new frame for myself that said #OPEN TO CONSULTING. Done. I updated my profile and started writing a post about it.
Somewhere in the middle of writing that post, it hit me: Open to Consulting was technically true, but it was also limiting. It didn’t really capture where I am right now. So I went back, changed my frame again, and posted this to LinkedIn:
So long, #OPENTOWORK frame.
Hey, it helped me (and so many others) during a weird and wild time. But after a friend and colleague asked yesterday why I still had that little green circle up, I realized it doesn’t quite reflect where I am now.
I’m not job hunting in the traditional sense. I’m not “between roles.” I’m a consultant, a collaborator, a possibility-seeker. I’m building my own thing—and I’m open to new client work, interesting partnerships, and big, messy challenges that need strategic thinking and real-world action.
Could the right full-time opportunity catch my eye? Sure—if it aligns with my purpose and values. But for now, my focus is on helping organizations navigate change, grow their leaders, and do the hard human stuff better.
Yeah, maybe I’m overthinking it (I usually do). But as much as we say we don’t need labels, we still look to things like LinkedIn frames to help signal where we’re at.
So here’s my attempt at clarity.
What would yours say?
#OPENTOPOSSIBILITIES
It’s always funny how the posts you think will get attention don’t—and the ones you toss up on a whim totally do. Probably because those “whim posts” are raw, timely, and authentic in a way that the more polished ones just aren’t.
I was a little shocked by this one. Still am. But I’m thrilled it struck a chord with so many others. Tons of likes, comments, even reposts... and it’s still going.
A lot of people have said they’d like a frame like this for themselves, and I’m happy to oblige! That said, making each one manually might get overwhelming fast. So, to make things easier, I created a template anyone can use. If you have some basic PowerPoint skills, you’re good to go.
Let me know if you spot any issues in the instructions—I’m a learning professional, after all, and I’d hate to be guilty of bad directions.
Oh—and feel free to change the text if you want. After all, your version of #OPENTOPOSSIBILITIES might look a little different than mine. Have fun!
